ASCTrac WMS
Receiving and Putaway Module
(Included)
As a warehouse manager, you know inventory accuracy begins with efficient, optimized, and validated receiving operations – receiving items against purchase orders, Advance Ship Notices
(ASNs), warehouse transfer orders, manufacturing orders, release numbers, etc. Information about orders received at your dock should be collected in real time so that data is instantly available to all other areas of your business, and tasks are immediately assigned to warehouse operators in order to optimize workflow.
The ASCTrac
Receiving/Putaway Module sets the stage for your warehouse efficiency and accuracy, utilizing extensive bar code identification techniques, real-time RF portable scanning terminals, and built-in-configurable warehouse optimization logic.

How does ASCTrac Control Receiving & Putaway Functions?
As items are received into your warehouse, information (PO number, item number, skid/pallet ID, lot number, quantity, etc.) is collected via
portable or fork truck mounted RF scanners (or you can receive directly into a PC running ASCTrac). Using configurable, system-directed logic
(putaway algorithms), ASCTrac directs operators to appropriate putaway locations for each item received. Operators are prompted (via RF terminals) to take items to the nearest bulk stock or replenishment
location(s), cross-dock items to production, staging or shipping areas, place items in QC hold
areas (based upon extensive QC logic), or put down items in any other supervisor-defined zones.
In emergency situations (i.e., when aisle ways are blocked) operators can perform on-the-fly location queries on their RF scanners to determine alternate locations so that they can override system-directed locations. At a putaway location, operators simply scan bar coded skid or case labels, and then identify the location they will be issuing material to (i.e., bulk stock location, production, etc.). Once items are put away or issued, the receiving file is updated, and any host updates are performed.
Flexibility
In addition to RF-directed putaway and other system logic, the ASCTrac Receiving/Putaway Module supports configurable location and zone attributes for storing hazardous items, refrigerated items, fast moving
items (ABC), etc. Plus, the ASCTrac Receiving/Putaway Module
allows workflow priority levels, material handling requirements, item/location dimensions and capacities, and consolidates "like" items whenever possible.
ASCTrac Receiving/Putaway Module Benefits & Features
- Customer orders and production requests can be downloaded from any host computer system, or manually entered into a PC running the ASCTrac Receiving/Putaway Module. An optional ASCTrac Purchase Order Module is available for complete system integration.
- Receive via expected receipts, ASNs, release numbers, blind receipts, etc.
- Once items are received, identified, counted, inspected, and labeled, ASCTrac directs operators (via portable RF scanning terminals) to proper locations and zones using built-in ABC-type logic, cross-docking, replenishment and other supervisor-defined capabilities.
- Variances as a result of differences in actual vs. expected item quantities can be reviewed by creating and printing reports, or simply by reviewing reports on-screen.
- The ASCTrac Receiving/Putaway Module supports skid/pallet tracking, lot and serial number tracking, date code and expiration tracking, and direct returns processing.
- Reconciliation for damaged goods received, shortages, and back orders is also supported.
- Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) receipts supported.
- You can even label and receive items into your warehouse directly from your production line (finished goods putaway), or issue items directly from production to staging or shipping areas.
- All receiving transactions are real-time with your database and are 100% validated. Host updates
are configurable, and real-time host interfaces can be made available.
- ASCTrac can also track operator and supplier performance statistics.
